State of affairs
This past weekend, I went to the Expo in Asuncion. This is like a state fair, only on a national level. They’ve got farm animals and equipment, international pavillions, carnival rides, a midway, and cellphone spokesmodels in an arms race of come-hitherism. Good times, good times. And so much the better that it’s held in midwinter. Even with an approaching cold front, I was developing my connoisseurship of Paraguayan ice cream.
And lomitos arabes, what the Paraguayans call a gyro. And beer. And empanadas de conejo. It’s up to you whether you want to follow that last Spanish term down the rabbit hole - the answer might not appeal to the squeamish.
Today’s GuaranĂ word is tapiti, meaning rabbit. The above photo was taken during Long Field last week at a local ranch.

That tapiti looks more like a mooi cowi. Bet he’ll produce some mean steaks and stew.
Uno had a great tapiti chase this morning! She gave up rather early.

MK! Hope your new assignment is up to your expectations.
I just got my next rotation details. I’ll be in the second half of the shop, not the Auto Presses as everyone thought. This area includes the Vertical Milling Centers, Weld/ Braze, Plating and the Saw building- I’m psyched! It’s the first time an OMLP has been given this role, so that’s exciting as well. Anyways. Hope all is well. Keep us posted!
